Mizoram Prepares to Host 10th International Tourism Mart in Aizawl for the First Time

The International Tourism Mart in Mizoram’s Aizawl will bring together the tourism industry and entrepreneurs from eight North-eastern states of India

Tourism-related issues from the G20 leaders’ summit were also discussed at the meeting organized by the Union Ministry of Tourism.
“We intend to provide diligence and rigor to show off our rich cultural heritage while welcoming visitors to our country. We will introduce the necessary changes, including visa reforms, traveler-friendly and traveler-friendly immigration services at airports, and an acceptance of international travel,” the tourism ministry has stated in a statement following the Dharamshala conference.
The Aizawl festival is scheduled as a way to intensify initiatives of the Ministry to making it a leading tourist destination during the Indian presidency at the G20.
The event will feature presentations from the 8 North-eastern states about their potential for tourism night, cultural nights, tours to local landmarks within and the vicinity of Aizawl the ministry added.
It will also have business-to business (B2B) meetings in which buyers from various parts of the country will participate in one-on-one discussions and sellers of the region of northeast. A fair with the display of exquisite handicrafts and handlooms is also planned to showcase the tourism offerings of the states that are participating.
The International Tourism Marts are organized in the states of North-eastern India on a rotating basis. Mizoram hosts this event in the very first year. The previous editions of the festival were hosted at Guwahati, Tawang, Shillong, Gangtok, Agartala, Imphal and Kohima the ministry stated.
