Black Panther Wakanda Forever is the most significant Marvel film of the last few many years. It can determine the fate of the franchise.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that is due to release within a month, is probably the most important Marvel film of the last few weeks due to the significance it holds for the overall franchise.

There are two different ways to look on what is happening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe currently. One could say that it’s never been larger and more impressive. This is the first point but the second is a bit disputed, however, it is clear that the MCU has extended its branches in a variety of directions that it’s difficult to assess just how big it truly is. Many believe that because of this wide spread, quality has been diminished. There’s a valid argument to be made too. The most recent Thor film polarized the critics and fans. Some of the newer web-based shows have not been able to reach their ratings records. In the midst of all this is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film, and it’s future, is crucial for the development of the MCU in general and, to a certain extent the genre of superheroes also.

MCU has separated its narrative into segments. The majority of times, a phase is capped by tentpole movies, typically among the Avengers titles. The current Phase Four, as many fans have pointed out, does not include the Avengers film. The subsequent Avengers film -The Kang Dynasty The Kang Dynasty — is part of Phase Six, and releases in 2025. Without a big tentpole, the honor (or the responsibility) of concluding this particular phase of MCU will be on Black Panther 2. For many, the stages of MCU aren’t visible but there’s always a shift in tone as one comes to an end and the next starts. Therefore, it is essential to begin and conclude a film strongly. The Avengers film — or even a multiverse adventure such as Spider-Man No Way Home — has plenty of resources to accomplish this. Black Panther 2 faces that difficult job, but it could just be up to it.

The journey of Wakanda Forever hasn’t been straightforward. It’s the first movie in the MCU that has faced the dilemma of replacing a beloved character and fan favorite actor. Chadwick Boseman’s tragic, premature death has left a gap of T’Challa’s size in the MCU. Many had anticipated that he would be the main character of the MCU following having left the original Six’ Avengers. They had good reason to believe it was the case. He was widely admired charismatic, charismatic, and had been the director of the first Marvel film that was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. It is possible that’s the reason Wakanda Forever was slated to conclude Phase Four.

However, that all was changed in the month of August in 2020 when Chadwick was diagnosed with colon cancer. Wakanda was not ruled by a monarch as the Marvel universe was forced to seek new directions. The film has performed pretty well. It has not only weaved the loss of Chadwick into the narrative and has done it with respect to the memory of the actor. It would be difficult to recast the story due to the fan-base Chadwick has. To ignore them was not an option. The manner in which Wakanda Forever has gone, depicting a devastated kingdom mourning the loss of its king is the sole way for us to honour T’Challa’s memory and honour Chadwick’s.

That’s why I’m confident that the film will get over the next hurdle as well. Like I said setting the tone for the next stage of MCU is a job that this film could have completed without. The film could be just as independent as the first was. The trailer however shows that it’s aiming to be more. The film is more impressive than the last one, and has more crossovers and a foundation for the future. That is far more than any prior MCU film in this particular phase has achieved. Namor is coming and a brand New Black Panther is taking over and there’s Iron Heart. It seems that the seeds of Phase Five have been sown. How they respond depends on how the film performs, both in the box office and among reviewers.

To claim it is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the most significant Marvel film of the last few years isn’t an exaggeration. Many have said that Marvel hasn’t impressed ever since Endgame just three years back. This movie has a chance to reclaim those. If you’re yet to be convinced it’s an excellent way to show how much fun Marvel can be. It’s elegant and fast. I’m not saying that she-hulk MS Marvel and I am Groot are all fantastic to stream. However, every once in a period of time, you’ll want Marvel to take a step back in time and bring you the feeling of excitement you experienced watching the Avengers unite to the very first time New York a decade ago. It might not have the star power needed to create the moment, however Black Panther 2 is not lacking in its ambition. The 11th of November will see what it performs, and whether it will be able to save MCU as many would like it to.
